About Me
Hello! My name is Montserrat Olivas, but I go by Montsy for short.
My mother home-schooled my three siblings and me throughout our grade school years which allowed for lots of traveling and visits to my dear family in Mexico. Aside from English, I am a fluent Spanish speaker and am learning French too!
I graduated from high school in June of 2020, studied two years at the Pennsylvania State University, majoring in Visual Arts, and finished my undergraduate degree in Theology and Catechetics at Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2024.
Drawing and painting have long been part of my life, but lately they have taken a special significance to me as a way of connecting with my body amid struggles with illness. Now as a teacher, I am learning to pass down my skills and greatest lessons to my own students, helping to strengthen the connection between their creativity and technical ability.
